On January 29, 2025, an event was held in Vienna, Austria, to confirm the stable operation of our 500 Wh battery module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the event, our Austrian subsidiary \u2014 Ewig Macht Plus GmbH (EMPlus)<\/strong> \u2014 received an official order for 2.5 GWh of energy-storage batteries<\/strong> (initial unit price: \u20ac1,500 per kWh<\/strong>) from the Austrian state government of Burgenland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project will be promoted with appropriate support from both the Austrian federal government and the European Union<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The project will proceed through the following five phases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Verification of 1 kWh module<\/strong> (until end of June 2025) \u2014 Completed<\/em><\/strong><\/div>

    <\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n

  2. <\/div>
    Verification of 10 kWh module<\/strong> (by end of September 2025)<\/strong><\/strong><\/div>
    <\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. <\/div>
    After completion of the second phase, the EU will issue a \u201cCertificate of Availability\u201d<\/strong> and place a formal order for 2.5 GWh.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/div>

  4. <\/div>
    Commercialization and performance characterization<\/strong> (by end of March 2026)<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/div>

    Start of deliveries<\/strong> \u2014 All deliveries scheduled to be completed between April 2026 and 2030<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/div>

    Currently, small-lot production using pilot-scale mass-production equipment<\/strong> is underway at Sendai Laboratory No. 2<\/strong> to prepare for the second phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Expected Impact<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    In the EU, there is growing skepticism toward the construction of large-scale energy-storage facilities based on conventional lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, due to the risk of accidents such as fires.
    As a result, expectations are rising for non-lithium-ion battery technologies<\/strong>, including lithium all-solid-state batteries<\/strong> and sodium-ion batteries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    At present, no other emerging battery technology has succeeded in developing a kWh-class module<\/strong>, and both MKPLUS and EMPlus<\/strong> have received numerous inquiries, particularly from renewable-energy companies across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When this project reaches its third phase<\/strong>, it is expected to lead to additional large-scale orders<\/strong> and further industrial collaboration within the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
